Ms. Sinclair’s Pre-K Class celebrated Lunar New Year! The kids were so excited to learn about this new year celebration and how it symbolizes the importance of family, prosperity, and new hopes for the future.

Mrs. Belmonte's Pre-K class is excited about Valentine's Day! As always, we discuss ways to be kind, to be a good friend, loving all people, and treating people the way you would like to be treated. The class made valentines for each other and each mailed them in their classmates' Valentine mailboxes. The mailboxes were overflowing with goodies from their friends! The students were super sweet with all of the Valentine themed activities they participated in this week!

This afternoon Eshaal Khan from Mrs. Hutchinson's third grade class came to read The Gift of Ramadan to our second graders. The class really enjoyed her visit! (Ramadan begins on the evening of February 17)

In Ms. Beck’s class, students created a meaningful “Kindness Web” activity where each child shared a compliment with a classmate, building a powerful visual representation of how connected they are as a classroom community.

In ENL with Ms. Neckonoff, students celebrated P.S. I Love You Day by sharing positive messages and heartfelt compliments with one another.

First grade has been busy learning about Black History Month and important research skills. Every student selected one influential person to research. Most of the research was done at home with family members and boosted family engagement with our learning. All of our completed projects are on display together to help recognize so many achievements by black men and women throughout history.

Second graders had a blast teaming up for a game-style lesson to learn and review r-controlled syllables! Working together, they read and sorted words with ar, er, ir, or, and ur, cheering each other on as they practiced tricky sounds. Through collaboration, students strengthened their decoding skills, built confidence, and discovered that learning can be both fun and rewarding when everyone works as a team.

In Ms. Franks’ class, students combined learning and fun with Candy Heart Math and a hands-on STEAM challenge! Students practiced math skills using candy hearts and then put their engineering minds to work by building creative structures with fruit snacks and toothpicks. The activity encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking—all while making learning sweet and engaging!

Staff and students proudly wore purple in support of P.S. I Love You Day, standing together to promote kindness, inclusion, and mental wellness. The sea of purple throughout the building was a powerful reminder that we are stronger when we uplift and support one another.

Ms. Gonzalez’s class took a special moment to visit the main office windows, where the beautiful display of hearts and names served as a powerful reminder of the kindness and positivity within our school community.

Our amazing Physical Education department wrapped up an exciting week of gymnastics with their students! Throughout the week, students built strength, balance, coordination, and confidence while practicing a variety of skills and routines. It was incredible to see their perseverance, teamwork, and growth on display as they challenged themselves and celebrated their progress.

Ms. Munford and Ms. Swartz celebrated Valentine’s Day with their class, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere filled with kindness and connection. Students shared cards, sweet messages, and smiles, making the day a special reminder of friendship and appreciation within their classroom community.
