January was Snoooowww much fun in Mrs. Belmonte's Pre-K class! Just to name a few of our lessons this month were reading and acting out books about animals hibernating and artic animals, making  polar bears, snowflakes, penguins and snowmen. We counted snowmen, danced to many winter themed movement songs, and participated in winter themed math and reading centers. It might be freezing outside, but it is warm and toasty and full of learning in our classroom!!

Groundhog Day Fun in Pre-K!
Mrs. Forcina’s Pre-K students celebrated Groundhog Day by learning about shadows and seasons. After hearing the story of the groundhog, the children made predictions about whether the groundhog would see his shadow. Each child voted and shared their thinking, practicing early math, language, and critical-thinking skills. It was a fun way to encourage curiosity, discussion, and making predictions while learning about a winter tradition!

Science with Mr. Smith in Ms. Yochai's second grade class turned into junior engineers and scientists this week as they explored the power of erosion through hands-on learning. Using sand, water droppers, and straws, students designed castles, then tested how wind and water can slowly wear them away. The engaging experiment sparked curiosity, creativity, and plenty of excitement—proving that learning science can be both messy and memorable.
