New students entering Clear Stream Avenue School in Valley Stream District 30 are excited to start a year of learning after a warm welcome by staff.

Clear Stream will soon be a familiar sight to the students who made their first visit to the building on Aug. 4. Teachers Sandra Aragona, Christine Pope and Susana Valencia prepared various fun activities, including a chalk maze on which students jumped on bubbles, tip-toed along a flower stem, and took “bites” of watermelon. They also sat in the shade for a reading session and made crafts shaped like slices of watermelon.

The Global Leaders of Tomorrow took a group photo with their crafts after enjoying flavored ices to cool off from the summer sun. They are now ready for the school year with new friends in their peers and teachers.
