Families from Shaw Avenue Elementary School recently gathered outside under the stars for an evening of entertainment during the school’s Welcome Back Movie Night. The event was hosted by the Shaw Avenue PTA and provided a safe and fun way for families to bond.

To adhere to social distancing protocols, “family pods” were created with chalk on the school’s blacktop. Students and their loved ones set up chairs and blankets in their pods as they got comfortable for the movie night. The PTA served popcorn and led fundraising efforts. Some new family members even signed up to become PTA members for the new school year.

“It was an amazing event where much of our Shaw community, including our new families, came together to enjoy an evening under the stars,” Principal Christopher Colarossi said.
