Six teachers from the Valley Stream District 30 were awarded tenure at the May 16 Board of Education meeting.

Music teacher Christina Gorey, physical education teacher Peter Hansen, first grade teacher Ashley Munford, second grade teacher Kim Lapera and special education teachers Erica Jemmott and Timothy Rau were granted tenure.

“Congratulations to our dedicated teachers who made tenure,” said Dr. Nicholas Stirling, superintendent of schools. “Each one goes above and beyond to ensure students excel academically and thrive on a social-emotional level.”
