Led by the PTA at Shaw Avenue Elementary School in the Valley Stream District 30, this year’s Parents as a Reading Partner program proved to be a tremendous success as students logged thousands of minutes in reading.

As a school, Shaw students read a total of 119,987 minutes in just two weeks. Families took time to read for a few minutes every day to build up their minutes.

On March 31, the winners of each grade happily accepted their prizes from the PTA, including games, books and more.
